Neil Watson

Chief Executive

As one of the two Directors, I look after all the operations and finance of the business, and also our customers. I’ve worked in the energy sector since 1986 in a variety of roles and so I guess I know a fair bit about energy supply.

What does your job involve?
As one of the two Directors, I look after all the operations and finance of the business, and also our customers. I’ve worked in the energy sector since 1986 in a variety of roles and so I guess I know a fair bit about energy supply. In addition, I’ve helped clients reduce their telecom costs for about 10 years or so, and look after ensensus – our energy management software project.

Why should businesses choose esave?
For me it’s because we do the very best we can for every single customer. Customer service has been ingrained in my approach to business since I was a trainee with the old North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board – I was fortunate enough to have some great mentors – when the organisation was changing from being engineering led to customer driven. In recent times, I’ve also became passionate about transparency and value in our sector – unfortunately there are many organisations out there who are only interested in getting as much money as possible from doing as little work as needed. Service and value might seem a bit cliched, but I’m afraid these are often not easy to find, and they mean a lot to us.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?
Doing well for our customers, and seeing the satisfaction our team get from that.

What do you do when you’re not at esave?
Simple – family! I’ve 3 boys growing up very fast, and they and my wife and I enjoy sport a lot – participating and viewing. We’re long time Caley Thistle season tickets holders and watch Scotland when we can too (which can be very emotionally damaging!). We also love holidays and travel when we can, and Canada/USA is my favourite destination. I also enjoy a good night out with friends & family, especially if it includes going to see live music.
